Sun chips
Sun chips are a multigrain chip; they offer a healthier alternative to your classic potato chips like lays or similar products. Sun chips offers a more limited selection of flavors, which are made naturally. Sun Chips gained some fame for their biodegradable bags which made a lot of noise when ever you tried to eat from them. In the following we will be looking at the different social media used by sun chips, how often they post and how interactive their pages are to determine whether or not sun chips has a strong presence on social media.

Facebook: Sun chips has a business page on Facebook but it has infrequent posts, only 2 from 2015 and 2 so far this year both from February. Sun chips has a little over 900000 likes to it’s page and their posts are all short little videos, that are not very interactive but reinforce their brand image. Their post although infrequent generate a lot of traction with close to 2 million views on some of them. There is a link to their website on the page but nothing that is trying to get you to use it.





Twitter: Sun chips has had an active twitter account since 2009 and has made 1251 posts over the last 7 years making them fairly regular. They currently have 60000 followers, but most of their posts have low retweets and likes. Their twitter account is open to their consumers’ tweets showing some home photos with sun chips or general appreciation of their products and brand. Their tweets are responses to consumer questions or concerns and some advertising with pictures or short videos.


YouTube: Their YouTube channel is just a placeholder for their name and trademark with no content currently online.


Instagram: Sun chips currently just has a placeholder account on Instagram, no content has been made it’s just holding their name and trademark.



Sun chips is only really active on to social media networks which are twitter and Facebook. Facebook doesn’t have very many post but each one generates a lot of traction, their Facebook account also isn’t very interactive. Their twitter account is a lot more active with post happening much more frequently but each one generating less traction. Their twitter account is more interactive with Sun chips answering or redirecting questions.
